Police said on Thursday that an American lady in her 21st year had passed away after being beaten and shoved down a slope by a tourist from the United States near the Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria.
According to a statement released by law enforcement from the municipality of Kempten, an American male aged 30 was taken into custody following the incident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
The 21-year-old woman and her companion who is 22 years old were out trekking in the region when they allegedly came upon the 30-year-old male, according to the police.
It is said that the guy convinced them to accompany him down a hidden path that ended at a vantage point that provided a nice view.
After that, he allegedly “physically attacked” a lady who was 21 years old, according to the police.
It is said that he strangled her and shoved her down a steep slope as her companion sought to interfere in the situation.
The 21-year-old was believed to have been the target of “an attempted sexual offence” by the police.
After that, she was also forced down the hill, and she fell with her buddy some fifty meters below.
The 22-year-old was hurt but able to communicate with the mountain rescue professionals when they located her and the other woman.
The woman, who was 21 years old, had significant injuries and was flown to the hospital by helicopter. Unfortunately, she did not survive her injuries and passed away later that night at the hospital.
The individual is the subject of an investigation for possible involvement in a homicide, an attempted homicide, and a sexual offense.
