According to Emirates News Agency, Dubai Customs recently assisted Japanese customs authorities in seizing 700 kilograms of methamphetamine powder.
A cargo ship from an Asian country, on its way to Japan, was found to be carrying a huge amount of drugs. The estimated value of these drugs is around $310 million.
The operation was a success, and as a result, the cargo ship was seized along with the illegal substances at the Port of Tokyo.
This seizure is the second-largest drug confiscation ever made in Japan.
Dubai Customs is continuously working to combat drug trafficking worldwide, and the joint operation aligns with this ongoing effort.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, the Director General of Dubai Customs, expressed his appreciation for the department’s excellent cooperation with customs administrations from various countries across the globe. He made it clear that the purpose of these partnerships is to increase trade volume and effectively combat cross-border crime, thereby addressing security concerns.
