Tesla (NASDAQGS:TSLA -0.24%) has inaugurated its very first Giga Lab in the city of Chengdu in the People’s Republic of China. The new retail concept serves dual purposes as both a shop and an interactive showroom. The showroom allows customers to see how the classic models of the brand are produced in only 45 seconds, while the store allows customers to leave with a brand-new electric vehicle. The purpose of the minimalist style is to evoke the atmosphere of Tesla’s Shanghai GigaFactory. This is accomplished through the use of steel and concrete finishes.
A Tesla Model 3 chassis that is not yet done can be seen hanging in the middle of the area, and it is accompanied by the same enormous red robot arms that are visible on the assembly lines. Individual automobile parts are displayed in order to educate visitors on the inner workings of the cars; in the meantime, there is free seating available, in addition to conference rooms, in order to accommodate guests. In addition, fully assembled Tesla vehicles are parked freely both inside and outside of the showroom so that consumers can get a comprehensive feel for the automobiles.
