The protracted legal conflict between T.I. and Sabrina Peterson is almost over. She used to be Tiny Harris, his wife,’s buddy. In 2021, Peterson filed a lawsuit, charging the rapper with harassment. She alleged that T.I. threatened her with a gun. However, a recent ruling by a judge in California has invalidated a number of Peterson’s lawsuit’s claims. According to Law360, Peterson’s claims for trade libel, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and deliberate and negligent interference with prospective economic gain were all rejected by the Second District Court of Appeal in California. To have the lawsuit dismissed, T.I. and Tiny had submitted a motion. They referenced the free speech-protecting anti-SLAPP law of California in it.
While the couple’s initial motion was denied, the appeals court ultimately sided with them. However, Peterson’s case has not been completely dismissed. She is now required to pay the couple’s legal fees and costs incurred in moving to strike the claims on which they prevailed. T.I. and Tiny’s lawyer, Andrew B. Brettler, expressed satisfaction with the decision. He says he and is confident in clearing his clients of Peterson’s defamation and false claims.

The controversy began in January 2021 when Peterson, previously believed to be a friend of Tiny Harris, alleged on Instagram that T.I. had put a gun to her head in front of her children. She claimed the incident occurred while she was defending herself against T.I.’s former female assistant, whom she accused of mistreating Tiny. Peterson also publicized allegations of sexual assault made by other women against T.I. and Tiny. In response, the couple denied these accusations on social media.
In her posts about the alleged incident, Peterson had quite a bit to say. “The sad part about being a woman & BEING A BLACK WOMAN IS THIS! The public PRAISES OUR PREDATORS! [T.I.], you PUT A GUN TO MY HEAD IN FRONT OF CHILDREN & I NEVER CALLED THE POLICE ON YOU! But for years, you have painted me as the VILLAIN!” she wrote.
