Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the acquisition of James Maddison, the midfielder from Leicester, on a contract that spans five years.
Maddison has reportedly accepted a contract worth £170,000 per week, along with a transfer fee expected to reach £45 million.
On Wednesday, the London club made an official statement expressing their joy in welcoming James Maddison to their team, following his signing from Leicester City.
The Club has reached an agreement with the England international, securing a contract extension until 2028.
The individual, who is currently 26 years old, initiated his professional journey with Coventry City. He advanced through the various levels of the youth system and eventually made his debut in August 2014. Subsequently, in January 2016, he decided to join Norwich City. He stayed with the Sky Blues on loan until the end of the 2015/16 season, making a total of 42 appearances for his hometown club and scoring five goals.
Maddison joined Leicester City and had his Premier League debut the next month in a season opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Having a remarkable debut season, he played in 38 matches and received City’s Young Player of the Season accolade, finishing the year with 14 contributions to goals.
