Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, sent Eid Al-Adha greetings on Wednesday, wishing Muslims in the United Kingdom and around the world a joyous holiday.
Sunak appreciated the significant contributions made by the Muslim community to the British way of life in a message that was distributed by the UK government. He also added that the festival served as a reminder of how important it is to spend time with one’s family and friends.
“Eid Mubarak to Muslims in the UK and around the world,” Sunak said.
“As you gather with family and friends and neighbors to celebrate Eid al-Adha, let us not forget the significance of these relationships, as well as the role that faith plays in inspiring us to go above and beyond to make the world a better place for those who live in it,” she said.
“I want to pay tribute to the incredible contribution that the Muslim community makes to the UK, and I wish you and your loved ones health and happiness,” he continued. “I also want to thank you for being a part of the Muslim community.”
